Plan your day at PortFest! Find some fun for everyone during this one-day family festival.  From boat rides, to children’s activities, and plenty of music in between, the event will host various interactive and hands-on activities for all ages.  

 

Activities on the water:​

• Marine Science Institute

  • Boat ride harbor tours: Sign up here

  • Mobile aquarium

• Spinnaker Sailing

  • Free 30-minute sailing excursions

  • Sign up at the Spinnaker Sailing office during the event.

  • Participants must sign a liability waiver and be five years or older.

  • Boats depart every 30 minutes from noon to 3:30 p.m.

• Redwood Water Sports

  • 50% off kayak and paddle board rentals

  • Water Sports Clinics:

  • Wing Foil Clinic: 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. (Hosted by F4 Foils)

  • Kayak Clinic: Noon

• Working waterfront behind-the-scenes trolley tour

  • ​Go behind the scenes for a guided half-hour tour of the Port’s industrial businesses.

  • Tours will begin every hour from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Tours are first come first served. Line will form at the Portside Business Park next to the canopy and balloons.

• Face Painting

  • Get your face painted with fun designs like pirates, mermaids and sea creatures.

  • Face painting is available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Redwood City Library

  • Marine-themed story time and crafts

    • Enjoy hourly story time sessions with sea-themed stories, followed by ocean-inspired crafts.

    • Story time starts at 11 a.m. and runs every hour until 2 p.m.

• Inflatable Slides

• Frisbee Spin Art

  • Create your own unique frisbee designs using vibrant spin art.

• Fishing Pool

  • Test your fishing skills in the kiddie fishing pool near Spinnaker Sailing. Catch fish and win a marine animal-themed building set.

• Touch-A-Truck

  • Explore real-life vehicles like a fire engine, police car and construction trucks from Cemex.

  • Complete the Touch-A-Truck Passport to win a vehicle-themed building set.

• Video Game Truck

  • Kids can hang out and play fun video games in the Kids’ Cool Game Truck

• Visit from S.J. Sharkie, the official mascot of the San Jose Sharks at 11 a.m.
