Updated: Apr 15

In partnership with Open Sky Productions, the Port is excited to announce the second annual Port of Redwood City Lighted Drone Show to kick off the summer entertainment season on Saturday, May 4 from 6-9 p.m.on the waterfront at 459 Seaport Court., Redwood City.

With a “May the Fourth be with you” Star Wars theme, this year’s festivities include face painting; a meet and greet with Star Wars themed characters, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and a storm trooper; free lightsabers for the first 200 children; a lit Port sky with 150 drones and much more. The band CASH’D OUT will kick off the night with their first performance at 6:30 p.m. featuring Johnny Cash classics like I Walk the Line, Folsom Prison Blues, A Boy Named Sue and Ring of Fire.

“Events like this cultivate a memorable experience along the Port’s waterfront for our community and provide a unique venue for locals to enjoy the waterfront,” stated Port of Redwood City Executive Director Kristine A. Zortman.

Attendees can expect local eats from a variety of food trucks, including Mister Softee NorCal ice cream – a community favorite – and beer and wine for those 21 and older from Devil’s Canyon Brewing.

The Port encourages attendees to bring a jacket and a low-back chair or blanket for the drone show starting at 8:30 p.m. Dogs and outside coolers are permitted at the event.

The Port cannot offer these types of community events, without the support from event sponsors such as CEMEX, Graniterock and SIMS Metal. “I encourage everyone to come out to the drone show for a spectacular night for all ages,” said Zortman.
